I suspect that the Romney sons are under a lot of pressure from Mitt and Ann and their campaign handlers to support their father's candidacy. In which case they can blame Mitt for dragging them into the spotlight; he should have suspected that if he had his sons go on TV to support him, someone would be interested in how they've built their families. If he were running on a pro-choice platform, then no one would have a leg to stand on in criticizing the surrogacy agreement language.

I don't believe Mr. Handel. Lawyers, especially experience high priced ones, are extremely anal retentive about what the wording is in a contract. They have clerks that go over a contract with a fine toothed comb because they don't want something to come back and bite them in the ass. He, the couple and the surrogate knew the abortion clause was in the contract in 2011. I do have a little sympathy for the Romneys in that this personal aspect of their lives should not be part of the media circus. Then again, once Tag came on national TV with his brothers to support his father he also tacitly acknowledged the platform of the GOP. When you have millions you have the luxury of having it both ways even when someone calls you on it.
